ColdStash™ recognise that each time a canister is removed from a Dewar, all the Liquid Nitrogen leaks out of the canister and back into the Dewar.
This is a safety consideration.
Each time that canister is removed to obtain a particular specimen, all the other specimens are exposed to an ambient temperature change. It may be for as little as sixty-seconds (or more), but they are all exposed for the sake of one. Multiply that over the course of days, weeks, and months, and it may take an adverse toll on your specimens!
ColdStash™ has developed a new canister for its VitroStash™ system that does not drain any Liquid Nitrogen from the bottom, but does have weep holes near the top.
This allows ALL of your specimens to stay at prescribed temperatures to assure their integrity and reduces greatly any unintended warming event that may cause damage.
This is a simple modification that can have a potentially large impact on your lab results and your chain-of-custody. Nothing at all changes in your lab, your procedures, or day to-day operations except of course your specimen integrity
With the all new HALO system the samples are able to be manipulated in the neck of the vessel and maintain sample integrity. This has several benefits
- Sample temperatures at sample point of storage are kept constant over time
- User can operate both hands to access samples without holding vessel
- Container is kept within the lid reducing spill and tip risk
